I understand that what I paid for was the location; however, I would think there would be some standard for what is provided and the condition of properties. View and location were great but no extras.

This property could definitely use quite a few updates. The carpeting throughout is VERY dirty. Stains all over. In many places sections of it have been replaced Why not replace it with tile or laminate flooring (with all the sand, it would be a lot easier to take care of). One of the kitchen cabinet doors is falling off and will probably do so soon, creating an unsafe situation. Dishwasher door, if not slammed shut just falls open all the way. Both my daughter and I were hit by it. Screen doors going out to deck fell out of the tracks every time they were opened Deck furniture was ridiculous. Due to rain we took the cushions off the loungers to try and dry them out. They were completely split open with the "stuffing" falling out of them when we turned them over!
I would suggest to the owner that they find different cleaning people. When we arrived we had to clean. Dishwasher full of dirty dishes, dirty china and cups in the closet, etc. They ask that the place be left neat. We scrubbed everything down before we left, but the carpet sweeper and vacuum were inoperable. That make things a little difficult. I guess no one ever checks these things out. Hopefully the cleaning crew brings their own vacuum because they were not using the one there!! And, come to think of it, the rug was not very clean when we arrived!
However, the view was beautiful and we would definitely return to OC, just not to that particular rental!!

We enjoyed our 2 weeks. It would have been nice if the house were more updated.
